National Gatkaa Association of India Introduction

In an earnest endeavor to revive, conserve, preserve, and promote the ancient martial art of Gatka as a recognized sport, the National Gatka Association of India (NGAI) was established in the year 2001 and officially registered in 2004. The NGAI holds affiliations with the World Gatka Federation (WGF), Asian Gatka Federation (AGF), and the International Sikh Martial Art Council (ISMAC), aligning its goals with these apex Gatka organizations to elevate Gatka’s status and popularity on the national and international stages.

With a legacy spanning two decades, the NGAI stands as the oldest registered Gatka organization and has been at the forefront of major initiatives aimed at promoting this extraordinary art form. The association is dedicated to securing the appropriate recognition and due status of Gatka as a sport, both nationally and globally, making this one of its primary objectives.

The WGF, AGF, ISMAC, and NGAI have taken on the responsibility of managing, standardizing, promoting, and revitalizing Gatka as a competitive sport, spreading its reach worldwide.
Gatka Soti introduced
Gatka Soti was introduced into the National School Games calendar by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) during the 2011-12 season.
Proper coaching
To tone up the skills of martial art and impart proper coaching to the Gatkebaaz, the Gatka Associations also organises weeklong free special Gatka summer camps at national, state, districts and sub-division level.
